Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the green of the signature tends more towards bright pea green. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is some intermittent wear to the four extreme edges, with associated scattered rub marks and some isolated paint losses in a few places. There is a vertical spot of paint loss beneath the figure's left thigh, as well as a minute spot of paint loss beneath his left hand and one to the figure's left arm. There are two tiny white media accretions to the centre and lower centre of the lower right quadrant as well as two further tiny white media accretions to the right side of the figure's back, which are probably inherent to the artist's working process. Several rub marks can be noticed upon close inspection to the left extreme edge, the majority of which are in the centre part, as well as a further short vertical rub mark to the top left part of the lower left quadrant. There are further intermittent rub marks to the upper part of the right extreme edge, and another horizontal rub mark to the left of the signature. There is a vertical white line of pigment to the top centre of the composition. No restoration is apparent under UV light.
