Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is sligtly softer in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is some wear in places to each of the extreme edges and corners, resulting in associated paint loss in places, in particular to the upper left quadrant. There is a tiny nick to the lower canvas edge between centre and left corner, with some loose pulled threads, and a few small rub marks at intervals to all four extreme edges. There is an intermittent water stain to the right side of the lower edge and a few further scattered pale drip marks elsewhere throughout the composition. A minute media accretion is noticeable upon close inspection to the upper centre of the right extreme edge, as well as a further media splash above it and a few scattered media accretions throughout the composition. Also, there are a few small media spots in the lower right quadrant which appear to be original to the work's execution, some of which have some minute related losses. There are four horizontal very lgiht rub marks to the upper centre of the left extreme edge. There is a small tear (approximately 5 cm. long) to the lower left corner on the lower edge. Some surface dirt has adhered throughout, in particular to the extreme overturn edges. No restoration is apparent under UV light.
