Condition
Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is warmer with more prominent pink, plum and gold tones throughout the original. There is a patch of blue paint to the right side of the lower edge which is not present in the catalogue illustration. The blue and green tones of the catalogue illustration are not present and the illustration does not fully capture the texture of the impasto and the sheen of the metallic paint apparent in the original.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. There is a small paper fibre adhering towards the bottom of the right extreme edge. On very close examination there is a tiny media loss to the lower right corner, another 30 cm in from the centre of the left extreme edge and another towards the top of the lower right quadrant, approx 30 cm inside from the right extreme edge. There are two further minute losses in the top left part of the upper left quadrant. Two spots of wear are visible on very close examination to the centre and left side on the lower extreme overturn side. No restoration is apparent under ultraviolet light.
