Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the fluorescent yellow tends more to fluorescent lime green, the grey more to a deep dove grey, and the blue more to a soft sky blue in the original.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. There is some light wear and surface dirt to all edges. There are a number of wood fibres adhering to the work's surface, in particular to the centre left of the lower margin, to the centre of the upper margin, to the top right corner, to the top left corner and to the right edge of the central sheet. The tears and creases to the composition, notably to the left pannel, are all inherent to the artist's chosen medium. The corners of the collage sheets are slightly rubbed, with associated original artist smudging. There is a spot of lifting paint to the top right part of the central sheet, and some further very tiny short cracks to the top left of the palette hole. There are a few isolated cracks and spots of paint lifting to the left sheet. No restoration is apparent under UV light.
