Condition

Colour: The colour in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate though the overall tonality is deeper and richer in the original with the background tending more towards charcoal grey and the central element to jet black in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There are several extremely faint and stable cracks to the impasto at the centre of the composition. There are two tiny losses, one to the bottom left hand corner of the central black element and the second towards the top right corner of the same element. There are several spots of extremely faint wear and a slight canvas draw to the extreme edges of the canvas. Examination under ultra violet light reveals no sign of clear re-touching.
