Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate though the overall tonality is richer and deeper in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. Executed on paper laid down on canvas, the canvas has been re-enforced with an aluminium plate and secured by a second verso canvas layer. There are several tiny spots of loss to the paint at the extreme edges of the sheet, particularly to the top left corner and along the upper edge where there are also several very fine and stable cracks. There is evidence of very faint frame rubbing along all four edges and a tiny spot of paint loss towards the upper right hand corner of the sheet. There is a tiny artist's pinhole at the centre of the top edge. Examination under ultra violet light reveals some very small spots of retouching to the centre of the top edge and a further small spot half way up the right hand edge.
