Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is brighter and more vibrant with the green tending more towards forest green and the red displaying more raspberry tones in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. On close inspection in raking light there are a few very light and handling marks to the upper section of the work. There is a short fine feather crack to the centre of the lower edge. There are several tiny scattered matrices of drying bubbles, predominantly to the upper part of the composition. Some extremely slight paper-thinning is visible upon very close inspection to the upper left corner tip and there are four specks of light wear to the upper right corner. There is a flattened fine short crease line to the centre right of the extreme edge and there is some very slight undulation in the lower right corner. There are several tiny spots of paint loss: one to the centre of the upper right quadrant, two tiny spots approx 20 cm and 10 cm inside from the centre of the left edge, and two further tiny spots to the top centre part of the lower left quadrant and to the blue pigment to the lower part of the extreme left edge. No restoration is apparent under ultraviolet light.
