Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is brighter and more vibrant in the original with the blue tending more towards an electric blue and the red tending more towards a blood orange. The background also tends more towards a light silver in the original.
Condition:
This work is in good condition. There is very minor wear to all four extreme corner tips. There is very slight canvas draw in the top left hand corner. There is a spot where the paint has lifted from the canvas in the centre right of the upper right hand quadrant. There is further lifting with associated paint loss towards the centre left of the right hand quadrant. Upon close inspection there are several isolated cracks throughout the composition with small losses to some impasto peaks. There are very faint handling marks along the top edge. No evidence of restoration is apparent under ultraviolet light.
