Condition
Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slightly richer and deeper, with the green of the patina tending more towards greyish-green with a more subtle sheen to the surface in the original. The catalogue illustration does not fully convey the texture present in the original, particularly to the pedestal.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. There is some very light oxidisation in places to the exposed bronze, in keeping with the nature of the medium. On close inspection three extremely short, fine and unobtrusive scratches are visible to the right of the figure's chest, likely to be original to the work's execution. Some extremely fine and superficial surface dust accretions have collected in some of the recesses of the work.
