Condition

Colour: The colours in the illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slightly richer and deeper, with the white in the paper tending more towards cream, and the black text to the upper part of the composition more to jet black in the original. The catalogue illustration does not fully convey the texture present in the original, particularly to the paper collage and to the smudges in the lower part of the composition. Condition: This work is in very good condition. Both sheets are mounted onto board. Top sheet: There are several pinhead sized spots of foxing throughout, particularly to the left hand quarter of the sheet. There is an extremely light spot of fading at both of the top corners caused by mounting adhesive. Bottom sheet: The writing on the reverse is visible through the sheet and the bottom edge is torn unevenly. There is a faint flattened crease at the top corners, a media accretion towards the centre of the top edge and a further spot of discolouration at the top right hand corner. There are several media marks along the left edge intrinsic to the artist's working process. The board shows signs of wear along the left extreme edge.
