Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slightly richer and deeper in the original, with the paper tone tending more towards pale biscuit beige. The catalogue illustration does not fully capture the texture of the décollage medium apparent in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is some slight time-staining to the décollage throughout and the blue paper to the horse's flank is slightly discoloured. There are scattered pale spots of discolouration (the majority inherent to the artist's use of found media) and a few fox marks throughout, notably to the blank paper at the centre of the lower horizontal section and to the upper right quadrant. There is some slight undulation around the horse's head and figure's right arm where the décollage is lifting slightly from the canvas beneath. The rips, tears, creases and paper skinning are inherent to the artist's working process.
