Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although it fails to convey the texture of the collage element, as well as the work's mirrored surface. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There are a number of very fine scattered scratches visible in raking light to the work's mirrored surface. Upon close inspection, a number of scattered fingerprints are noticeable to the mirrored surface throughout. Upon close inspection, a minute spot of media loss can be seen to the collage element, approximately 15 cm. right of centre of the extreme bottom edge. Some fine dust fibres have adhered to the work's surface in places.

Catalogue Note

"The eyes are mirrors, the mind is the mirror of the eyes and actions are the mirror of the mind. Now that the mirror has come to light from Art we can see inside history, the bright and sparkling history in the thickness of the mirror and the life that Art reflects in this thickness." The artist in: Exhibition Catalogue, Barcelona, Museu d'Art Contemporani, Michelangelo Pistoletto, 2000, p. 30)
