Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate though the overall tonality is brighter and more vibrant, with the green at the lower right quadrant tending more towards lime green in the original. There are no rings around any of the circles in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is a very fine and stable craquelure throughout, only visible upon close inspection with very faint and intermittent rub marks to all four extreme edges, particularly to the extreme lower left hand corner. There is a tiny spot of wear to the paint directly below the centre of the composition. Examination under ultra violet light reveals extremely faint spots of intermittent retouching to all four extreme edges, a further small spot above the top right curve of the central globe and a final spot towards the lower left hand corner.
