Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slightly deeper and richer, with the reds tending more towards a bright cherry red, the yellow to soft primrose yellow, the orange on the left of the lower edge to tangerine and the pink in the lower part of the composition to candy pink. The catalogue illustration does not fully convey the texture of the collage elements apparent in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There are artist's pinholes visible on close inspection to the four corners. There is some slight undulation between the paper and the canvas in the top right, lower right and lower left quadrants. Upon close examination there are a few minute media losses: two to the white pigment of the chin of the central collaged figure, one to the top edge of the figure's head, one to the lower left corner, to the upper left corner, to the centre of the upper extreme edge and to the right extreme edge just beneath the top right corner. Upon very close examination there are few isolated spots of fine and stable drying craquelure. No restoration is apparent under ultraviolet light.
