Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slightly softer with the blue in the centre tending more towards baby blue, the green more to mint green and the red to cadmium scarlet in the original. The catalogue illustration fails to fully convey the surface texture of the impasto paint apparent in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There are three pale rub marks to the centre of the lower edge and a few tiny losses to the impasto peaks in places. There are a number of fine surface cracks in places, including to the yellow and grey pigment at the lower centre on the left edge, to the yellow impasto adjacent to the top right corner, to the blue paint at the centre of the right edge and some minor drying cracks to the yellow pigment stroke in the top left quadrant. A few further fine and unobtrusive surface cracks are visible in a few isolated places elsewhere and there is some light surface dirt throughout. No restoration is apparent under ultraviolet light.
