Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the brown tones of the iron at the top of the rods tend more towards rusty red-orange in the original. The catalogue image does not fully convey the different textures of the brush and iron apparent in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There are a few tiny rub marks and small paint losses to the rods, particularly to the top part of the brush rod. There is some minor oxidation to the iron elements, to the twisted metal of the brush and to a few places on the rods, characteristic of the materials and original to the artist's choice of media. There are a few small surface abrasions to the base resulting in some associated tiny spots of paint loss adjacent to the signature and to the opposite side. Some surface dirt has collected in parts of the base and to the recesses of the elements at the top of the rods.
