Condition
Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is softer, with the paper tone tending more towards creamy-white, the blue in the composition more to turquoise, the yellow more to a rich sunshine yellow, the lilac more to lavender-blue, and the greens to a more muted leaf green in the original.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. There are extremely fine lines of faint time-staining to the extreme edges. There is a tiny speck of material adhering to the blue pigment at the lower left quadrant above the title inscription. Three very faint drip marks are visible to the top of the blue shape at the bottom right of the lower part, original to the work's execution. Close examination reveals a few pinprick-sized fox marks scattered to the margins around the painted image, notably to the upper left corner. There is a vertical crack to the plexiglas frame at the centre of the lower extreme edge and a few isolated light rub marks in places to the outside of the frame.
