Catalogue Note

Tomorrow Cloudy Sky is a series of meticulous colour paintings, originally created for an exhibition scheduled in Teheran, Iran, in 2006. Representing vistas of atom bomb explosions, I consider this series of works a kind of gift for the country, bringing to Iran what international politics prohibited. By choosing a very refined painting technique and material - mineral colours on silk - to represent an extremely terrifying subject, and thus by opposing beauty and horror/terror, I try to initiate reconsideration of this explosive topic on another more neutral and universal level. Some of these paintings are combined with calligraphy that gives a scary weather report.
