Condition
Shahsavan soumac bag: Complete with kilim back and polychrome wool side stitching with some losses and fraying to stitching. Soumac intact with scattered spot stains, will enhance with cleaning. Original ties intact with some fraying to kilim ends.
Shahsavan soumac bagface, 1.11 x 1.9: Circa 1890. Surface stains and discolorations. Recommend cleaning. A 1 inch slit on left side. Surface grime. Sides mostly intact with some fraying and losses to overcasting. Lower end with trimmed madder kilim, upper end with polychrome kilim folded under and sewn. Upper end has slits into soumac area at holes for tying.
Shahsavan soumac bagface, 1.6 x 1.6: Circa 1900. Scattered spot stains. Minor oxidization showing some warps in dark browns. Losses to sides and sides slightly fraying. Lower end with 1 1/2 inch striped kilim. Upper end with polychrome kilim. Ends folded under and sewn.
