- A Yomud main carpet
- approximately 9ft. by 5ft. (2.74 by 1.52m.)
Condition
Pile ranges from near original 1/8in. in borders and along ends with foldwear and wear in central areas low to knot heads. Dark brown outlines oxidized to knot heads. Small areas of foldwear showing spot foundation. 2in. by 1in. reweave in center of carpet. A few smaller reweaves at the lower end of the field. Minor repiling to oxidized dark browns. Couple repaired foldwear slits 1/2 in. to 1in. long. A 5in. by 2in. burned stain upper right corner of carpet with unusual dark brown residue on reverse. Reselvedged with dark blue wool. Upper end missing end guard stripe, now secured with binding stitch. Lower end more complete, also secured with binding stitch. Supple handle, lovely color, cotton and wool wefts.
Colors: brown red, madder, dark blue, green, yellow, ivory, walnut.
