comprising a Kurdish bagface with a Salor Turkmen gul design, a Kurdish with medallion and star-filled border and the Caucasian with a red narrow reserve enclosing two boteh within yellow and ivory borders

Condition

Kurdish 1'8" x 1'8": pile generally good 1/8 inch overall, lustrous wool; 1 x 1 inch faded reweave in upper border; two minute repaired puncture holes lower end of central gul; missing side guard stripes, later brown wool selvage; remnants of blue and brown kilim ends with small losses into end guard stripes at corners; supple handle. Kurdish 1'10" x 1'8": pile good thick 1/5 inch with dark browns oxidized to knotheads, moth damage along upper edge and in upper corners also low to knotheads and spot foundation; sides with later brown wool selvage, some fraying; upper end with two guard stripes and partial third stripe, fraying; lower end with flatwoven and cable end finish with losses at corners; supple handle; highly lustrous wool; good, saturated colors including a deep aubergine. Caucasian, 2' x 1'10": pile ranges from near original 1/8 inch with areas of foldwear low to knotheads and foundation; dark browns also oxidized to knotheads and spot foundation. original two cord selvages wrapped in yellow and some brown wool, 1 inch are later overcast in red wool. Lower end missing outer barberpole guard stripe, upper end with loses into barberpole stripe, but most of it intact; fuchsine dye used in a few design elements---early chemical dye so these elements are beige on face and purple on reverse; supple handle, lustrous wool.
