Condition

Pile generally full thick 1/5 inch overall; small scattered spot stains. Original kilim end finishes and knotted and twisted warp fringes. Original blue cotton 3 cord selvages with small losses. Rug splays out at lower end with 4 inch difference in width between upper and lower ends. Dense pile, flexible handle, very good overall condition. Technical analysis: Warp: Cotton, Z4S, natural ivory Weft: Silk, Z spun, 2 shoots, light madder red Pile: Wool, symmetrical knot Density: 12 horizontal; 13 vertical Sides: 3 cords of 2 warps wrapped in light blue cotton Ends: Upper--1/8 inch red kilim, 1/2 inch macrame, 3 inch long twisted warp fringes Lower---1/8 inch red kilim, 1/4 inch macrame, 3 inch long twisted warp fringes Colors: madder red, rose red, deep blue, light blue, green, golden yellow, taupe, aubergine, ivory, walnut
