Condition

Pile generally dense 1/10 inch in border with central area low to knotheads. A 15 inch slit in upper right end border. Scattered foldwear with spot foundation showing. A vivid red dye bleeding into ivories, indicative of a chemical dye. Animal stains and surface dirt overall, will enhance with careful cleaning. Losses to outer end guard border, recommend securing. Original red wool selvages with some fraying and losses. Dense weave, robust handle, sound fabric, unusual design.
