  • approximately 18ft. 8in. by 8ft. 1in. (5.69 by 2.46m.)
inscribed with verses of Persian poetry extolling the virtues of doing good in the world

Condition

Pile generally good, ranging from approximately 1/8in. to low to knotheads and spot foundation in areas of wear, oxidation and moth damage. Most of dark browns oxidized to knotheads and foundation, some with minor repiling. Scattered moth damage, most repiled. Upper end with small scattered reweaves, probably to old moth damage areas. Some reweaves and repiling in area now slightly faded. The largest repiled area is approximately 2in. by 4in. in upper right corner. Scattered foldwear, some with exposed foundation. Cotton warps. Sides overcast, ends with cloth tape sewn on reverse. Supple handle, good condition for age, sound fabric, lustrous wool.
