Catalogue Note
The Temple of Apollo at Thermos was built about 600 B.C., destroyed by Phillip V of Macedon in 218 B.C. Situated in the heart of Aetolia it was considered as an acropolis. It was constructed of wood, the metopes and walls of the peristyle being decorated with terracotta slabs of archaic design.
