Condition
The canvas appears to be original, although a fixed backboard prevents further inspection. There is a stretcher mark through the middle of the canvas (vertical). There are scattered patches of craquelure and several very small spots of paint loss. Otherwise in good overall condition. Light surface dirt. Ultraviolet light reveals retouching mainly to the figure and divan, partially obscured by a thick varnish. Held in a simple gold composite frame.
