Condition
The canvas has been relined. There is a triangle shape of retouching over Bethlehem (addressing a repair in the canvas), some strokes of ertouching in the centre towards the left edge and some infilling within the upper and lower left of the work visible under ultraviolet light. The paint surface is overall in good condition. Held in a fluted gilt wood frame.
