Description

of bulbous form, mould-blown with small splayed foot, tall, narrow tapering neck with thistle mouth and flattened rim, the body trailed with a purple band with wave-motifs on the shoulder, moulded with scrolling roundel designs on the lower body, with kick base and pontil scar

Catalogue Note

The type of design used on this particular vessel with the moulded circular motifs and coloured band trailing the body is similar to the design seen on a jug sold at Christie's on 11 April 2000, lot 282, with the same two-coloured glass decorations and wave-form motifs.
