- An Ottoman silk embroidered quilt cover (yorgan yüzü)
- approximately 212 by 125cm., 7ft. by 4ft. 2in.
the natural linen ground in three joined widths, embroidered in couched floss silk
Condition
slight spotting to ground, some losses to embroidery, some later (old) restorations, losses to ground at lower edge, mounted on hessian backing with hanging loops. This piece would benefit from judicious cleaning and conservation; nothing has been done to it in a very long time.
