Description

comprising twenty-five square tiles painted in underglaze cobalt blue, apple green and manganese purple outlined in black with a central long-necked vase issuing carnations, tulips, hyacinths and rosettes on thin leafy stems flanked by tankards issuing similar floral sprays all on a deep cobalt ground scattered with cloudbands enclosed within an outer border of undulating split-palmette scroll reserved in green

Condition

about half of the tiles have been damaged and repaired with some over-painting and touching-in, in spite of this the panel is complete and has strong colours and a powerful design, a good decorative piece, modern frame, as viewed
