Description

  • Dated A.H. 1308/A.D. 1890-1891
the double-edged tapering steel blade with bulbous tip and central groove, the blade dated at the forte, the hilt with ivory facings of baluster form secured by gilded boss studs, the ivory carved and inlaid with gold and black lac with arabesques of scrolling tendrils, the scabbard with a further panel of carved and gold inlaid ivory, bordered by niello and gilt bands of scrolling acanthus on a punched ground, the reverse with a velvet panel enclosing a small ivory hilted knife, faceted bud terminal and floral gold and niello'd suspension loop
