of domed form surmounted with a faceted spike and foliate nose-guard flanked by two plume holders, the hat decorated with overlaid gold depicting hunting scenes with riders on horseback enclosed within an arabesque ground of scrolling tendrils, the rim with panels of seated animals alternating with calligraphy, the spike, nose-guard and plume terminals decorated with paired birds in combat, chain mail neck guard with areas of gilding
