Description

the leather body of domed circular form, the exterior tooled, embossed and painted with scrolling poppy stems issuing large full and half-faced flowerheads, central poppy medallion encircled by four brass bosses with foliate openwork borders, the reverse with further poppies painted in gold reserved on a deep red ground, velvet and metal fittings

minor losses to rim, areas of rubbing and loss to painted decoration, as viewed
