of rectangular form made up of two hinged component parts, the interior inlaid with khatamkari panels of micro-mosaic stellar and polygonal forms bordered by geometric bands, the exterior with a central chequerboard design with alternating squares of micro-mosaic and stellar motifs bordered by mother-of-pearl plaques painted with flowers, sides panels with further stellar and painted polygonal designs, bordered by cusped calligraphic cartouches reserved on a painted scroll ground, the interstices with cusped roundels filled with further micro-mosaic stars
