  • A Gray Chlorite Figure of a Goddess or Priestess, Bactria or Margiana
  • Height 3 1/4 in. 8.3 cm.
seated on the ground with her legs positioned to the side, her missing hands carved separately and once resting on her lap, and wearing a voluminous fleece mantle wrapped around her body, the calcite head with aquiline nose and recessed eyes, the underside of the figure slightly convex.

Condition

note damage to lower front, there is a large chip to the proper lower right back partially visible in the photo, also a another big chip and an abraded area across the back, other miner chips and abrasions as shown; the head, which appears to belong, is worn but otherwise in good condition.
