  • A Greek Terracotta Protome of Demeter, Boeotia
  • Height 9 13/16 in. 25 cm
her hands lifted to her breasts, and wearing a chiton with pleated sleeves, peplos, low polos, and traces of painted necklaces, her face with full lips, strong chin, and straight nose, the centrally parted wavy hair arranged in a melon coiffure and falling in long ribbed plaits to the shoulders; remains of white slip overall.

Condition

generally very good, body area has been repaired from several fragments with a small area below her left forearm, head and face in excellent condition
