  • A Bronze Figure of the Horus Falcon
  • Height 4 in. 10.2 cm.
standing with wings crossed over the fragmentary tail feathers, with carefully engraved feathers, sharp finely incised beak, large circular copper-inlaid eyes with raised rims, and recessed eye markings probably also once inlaid, a recess and other marks on the crown of the head for attachment of the headdress.

estate of Paul Murtaugh, acquired in New York City between 1960 and 1985 

Condition

Tail feathers fragmentary, beak chipped, engraved detail highly worn or rubbed, talons damaged and fragmentary, left leg cracked through, body of falcon broken away from upper legs and with small pieces along break missing.
