Description

  • Seven Glass Vessels and a Glass Weight
  • 9 1/4 to 2 1/2 in. 23.5 to 6.3 cm.
comprising a large bottle with broad rounded body and tall flaring neck with flange beneath the rim, a vase with hollow pedestal foot, globular body with flange on the shoulder, cylindrical neck, and flaring rim with lip possibly recut in antiquity, a large bowl with splayed foot folded out and flaring sides with everted rounded rim, a bottle with splayed tooled foot, broad rounded body encircled by bands of fine wheel-cut grooves, cylindrical neck, and flaring mouth with rim folded in, a beaker with solid foot and slightly flaring cylindrical body encircled by a thread, a fragmentary globular jar with indented sides and flaring mouth with folded flange beneath the rim, a beaker with splayed folded foot and flaring sides with everted rim, and a biconical weight.

Condition

First intact; second intact except for possibly recut rim and large chip on rim; third intact, areas of incrustation; fourth intact with minor chips underneath foot; fifth intact with areas of iridescence; sixth has two large pieces missing and is cracked; seventh with cracks and repairs on one side of body; eighth is chipped at one end. OR very good except for the jar on the left, which is missing two pieces and has a serious crack, and the beaker behind it, which has cracks and amateur repairs on one side. The vase on the far right has a chip on the rim, and the rim itself may have been ground down in modern times.
