depicting in multicolored tesserae a bird within a wreath.

Provenance

acquired in 1969 by the present owner from Asfar Bros., Hotel St. George, Beirut [inv. no. 220]

Condition

Tesserae set in heavy modern concrete slab, a few isolated tesserae missing (e.g. above bird's head and along right edge), dark grout stains over surface of tesserae, entire panel covered in thick layer of waxy substance which has turned yellow over time
