  • 18 1/2 by 59 1/2 in. 47 by 151 cm.
depicting in multicolored tesserae between serrated borders two confronted fish on either side of an aquatic plant, two shrimp at right, another plant at left.

Provenance

acquired in 1969 by the present owner from Asfar Bros., Hotel St. George, Beirut

Condition

Tesserae set in heavy modern concrete slab, a few isolated tesserae missing or replaced, surface is very dirty with accumulated grime over grout stains, colors in catalogue are more vivid tham in reality
