Catalogue Note
For other examples, including one from the Michaelides Collection, cf. J. F. Aubert and L. Aubert, Statuettes égyptiennes, Chaouabtis, Ouchebtis, Paris, 1974, pl. 31, nos. 68-69, and G.Janes, Shabtis: A Private View, Paris, 2002, no. 58.
Glenn Janes writes (op. cit., p. 115): "It has been suggested that Henut-tawy was a daughter of Pinudjem II and his principal wife Iset-em-Khebit... It is... likely that she lived at the very end of the 21st Dynasty and died early in the 22nd as the cemetery in which she was most likely buried is of 22nd Dynasty date. Yoyotte has suggested a sequence for the 'Divine Adoratrices' of the Third Intermediate Period in which Henut-tawy is the predecessor to Mehyt-weskhet who is similarly only known from her shabtis (J. Yoyotte, "Les Adoratrices de la IIIème Période Intermédiaire," Bulletin de la Société française d'égyptologie, vol. 64, 1972, p. 50)."
