Gate of Ngo Mon: The painting and canvas are in good condition. The canvas is clear and taut. Some spots of retouching near water edge and a small spot in tree. All retouching only visible under ultraviolet light. Paint layers are stable and intact. The colours of the catalogue illustration are quite accurate.
The Nine Dynastic Urns: The painting and canvas are in good condition. The canvas is clear and taut. Some spots of retouching on urn. All retouching only visible under ultraviolet light. Paint layers are stable and intact. The colours that are represented in the catalogue are darker as compared to those of the actual painting. The colour of the sky is also more bluish in reality.
Bridge of Truong Tien: The painting and canvas are in good condition. The canvas is clear and taut. Some spots of retouching; two spots in trees, spot on bridge and another spot near tree trunk. All retouching only visible under ultraviolet light. Paint layers are stable and intact. The catalogue illustration is less yellowish in reality.
Village of Lang Co: The painting and canvas are in good condition. The canvas is clear and taut. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals a spot of retouching in sky and on the trunk of second tree from right. All retouching only visible under ultraviolet light. There are two spots of paint loss in sky but apart from this, paint layers are stable and intact. The colours of the catalogue illustration are quite accurate.
