Condition
The painting, silk and board are in good condition.
The silk has neither runs nor holes and the board is without cracks or warping. Some spots of craquelure in background.
Examination under ultraviolet light reveals small spots of retouching on lady's dress and lower left edge of painting, probably due to abrasion.
The colours of the catalogue illustration are close, but the faces of the figures are less yellow in reality.
