Canvas is lined. SURFACE: in good condition UNDER ULTRA VIOLET: scattered inpainting, mostly in sky

Catalogue Note

Ernest Lawson wrote about this picture to Dr. Quintard in 1934.  In his words, "That little canvas of Segovia looked splendidly in its frame.  I am convinced it is one of the best things I have done.  Spain certainly gets to you and I think I have something of the romance of the country in this small canvas." 
A xerox copy of the letter accompanies the lot.
