Very good condition; unframed: hinged to the mat at three places along top edge, bottom corners in supports, some minor cracking in the thickest areas of pigment at center.

Wessaweskeag is the Native American word meaning "tidal creek" or "salt creek" given to the local river and the Maine town now called South Thomaston. The image depicts the salt marsh on Buttermilk Lane on the road from Route 1 to South Thomaston.
