Catalogue Note
This work was painted upon the artist's return from Giverny. The garden depicted is that of Florence Griswold, who housed and provided financial support for the Old Lyme School painters (which included W.L. Metcalf, E.L. MacRae, J.H. Twachtman and J.A. Weir, among others). Her former home is now a museum.
