SURFACE: in fair condition; discolorations in sky suggest extensive old repairs; surface is flattened from relining, canvas weave shows through most of canvas UNDER ULTRA VIOLET: heavy restoration throughout sky (some of it shows to naked eye as mentioned above); spots of inpainting scattered throughout--restorer had used a heavy hand
