Catalogue Note
In 1955 Hugh Hefner decided that the Party Jokes page of his magazine Playboy needed a visual element. In response, Neiman created "femlins", the shapely, feminine sprites pictured here. They have appeared regularly in the publication ever since. The term is a comination of female with gremlin.
