Description

carved from hippopotamus tooth (hippopotamus amphibius), the female figure with circular scarification on the abdomen, the hands holding her breasts; milky white and honey brown patina. 

Condition

good condition overall; cut on the bottom (saw marks visible) pierced on right bottom edge, most likely for the mounting of a seal as used by colonial officers; age crack through left side; milky white and honey brown patina.
