Description

  • Length: 81.3 cm
carved in hardwood, the slightly concave and broad front tapering gradually to form a point at each end decorated with engraved linear motifs infilled with traces of white pigment and others highlighted in red, the undecorated reverse of triangular section with deep-cut lug
handle and three areas of old insect damage, shiny patina overall

The narrow shiels is in fair condition with three large holes in the reverse from insect damage and there are no visible repairs or restoration.
